Dear members,

October 4 serves to commemorate the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirited persons (MMIWG2S), and to extend our heartfelt solidarity to their families. It is a day of action, to make the voices for truth, justice, and reconciliation heard across the country.

Unifor has partnered with the Tears to Hope Society to participate in their annual relay race (run or walk) to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis of MMIWG2S. Unifor’s event will take place on Saturday, October 5.

Members are encouraged to honour the October 4 day of action and seek out the Tears to Hope Relay event near you.

When you are at the event, you are encouraged to share your participation on social media in a way that reflects this somber memorial action commemorating missing persons and the loss of life.

More information about the people and families we seek to support can be found here.

If you have any questions about your local event please use the local contact information.

In solidarity,

Lana Payne
National President
